Decrease me

Decrease me until there is no "me" left, Only You!

Oh let this be true in my life! That every day there is less of me and more of Jesus.
Less of my needs met, and more of my friend's needs met.
A decrease in my selfish desires, and an increase in Christ's love shining through my life and in the world.
May my journey to Uganda humble me and bring me to my knees.
I pray that the Lord is praised through our actions and words. That our lives are living sacrifices for him.

Just a little bit of my heart tonight :)

Uganda is quickly approaching and I have been SO blessed by the amount of support I am getting. I can not thank all of you enough!!

HE did

I saw this today and it really made me stop and think. For those of you who don't know there is a popular song out right now called grenade. That is where the lyrics to this comes from except the words were chanced from "I would" to "He would" and then the amazing truth that HE DID die on a cross for us. There are so many times when I know I don't fully understand that sacrifice and I was reminded of that again today. Girls like this song because it talks about a man being willing to do anything for you, but the cool thing is...Jesus did! And He will do anything for us! Changing the lyrics to that song was simple but profound. Don't ever forget that He did.

I'm getting more and more excited to show that kind of love to the children of Uganda soon!!

Uganda Bound!

Well here it is. My new blog for my upcoming trip to Uganda with Visiting Orphans. I am in awe of how the Lord has orchestrated this trip for me in such a short time span. But why should that be so surprising to me? He is God after all! He can move mountains and raise the dead from the grave.

I feel so humbled and excited to be allowed the opportunity to travel to Africa and share the love of God with children who so desperately need to see it, not just hear about it. If I could be used to impact just one life in Uganda that would be enough for me. But I am praying for so much more.

Please join with me in praying for this journey in March (the 12-22nd). Please pray that our team will have unity and that our travels will be safe and we’ll remain healthy. Pray also that God will teach me more about Himself and especially pray that we’ll be able to communicate God’s love to the children we meet. I can't wait to see the life change in myself, those on my team, and the children that we minister to.

This weekend I will be sending out support letters to those who are considering being a part of my support team. If you are considering contributing to my trip financially, let me know so I can send you a letter or send you an e-mail copy!

In the meantime here are a list of donations that we are currently seeking to be donated for the children in Uganda:
- Mattresses for 19 beds at Return Uganda, one of the orphanages we are visiting. $30 buys a mattress for an orphan! Checks can be made to "Visiting Orphans" and mailed directly to us.
- Deodorant
- Pull-ups (for 4-year olds)
- Clothing for boys & girls (11 & up) at Canaan's (1-piece dresses for girls, larger bras)
- Underwear (for young children)
- Camera & Laptop for Godfrey's Pillar of Hope/From the Streets Uganda Ministry

Thank you for any and all support! More to come soon :)

p.s. my blog One Less is inspired by the new Matthew West song called One Less, check it out!
